Drawing inspiration from purposeful design and innovation, the 2025 Games for Change Festival theme was "Designing for Tomorrow." The goal of the festival was to bring together diverse voices ranging from industry veterans to next-generation innovators in order to explore how games and XR can break down barriers between generations, perspectives, and sectors. The Festival highlighted how collaborative design and play can transform entertainment into measurable impact across critical areas like education, health, and sustainability.
My aim for this festival’s design, apart from speaking to the stated theme of “Designing for Tomorrow” was to synthesize the multi-faceted values of Games for Change (diversity, technological progress, sustainability, etc.) while elevating upon past festival designs and ensuring that the materials all appeared coherent and complementary to the Parsons space.
An annual highlight of the Games for Change Festival is the G4C Arcade. The arcade provides an opportunity for indie-game developers, AAA studios working in more socially-conscious arenas, NGOs partnered with game studios, XR developers, tabletop and boardgame developers, and more to exhibit their games and experiences in-person to all G4C Festival attendees.
Many of the games submitted to the student challenge take the form of a platform game which allowed for the easy porting to a traditional arcade cabinet. I designed the vinyl coverings for the cabinet while the physical structure was constructed by Wonderville in Brooklyn, NY.
